How to Install Buzz
If an "Add to Home Screen" button appears above, your browser has made it easy to install! This usually happens after you've interacted with the app a bit.
If the button isn't visible, or if you prefer, you can almost always install the app manually using your browser's menu (often three dots or a share icon). Look for an option like "Install app," or "Add to Home Screen."
General installation steps:
- Wait for the Prompt or Use Browser Menu:
- If the "Add to Home Screen" button (shown above when ready) appears, click it.
- Otherwise, open your browser's menu. Look for an option like "Install app," "Add to Home Screen," or similar.
- Confirm Installation: Follow your browser's on-screen prompts.
- Launch from Home Screen: Once installed, you can open Buzz directly from its icon, just like any other app.
Once set up, you'll receive important updates and alerts through Buzz! Remember, for notifications to be sent from our servers, the VAPID key must be correctly configured by the development team, and your subscription details must be sent to the backend.
PWA installation and service worker features (like background notifications) are best tested in a production build or when served over HTTPS. Localhost is an exception for development.
